BentoBox

Building and Scaling the Design Team

One of my most formative roles was at BentoBox, where I joined as the 14th employee and one of just two designers on the team. Over the course of 3.5 years, I helped scale the design organization to 15+ designers across both remote and in-house teams as the company grew past 100 employees and was eventually acquired by Fiserv.

During that time, I progressed from Senior Designer to Design Director and ultimately Design Principal, helping shape the team through interviewing, hiring, and mentoring designers as the organization rapidly expanded.

Establishing the Brand Vision

I established the company’s brand identity and logo system, elements that continue to represent the brand today, while contributing to a creative culture that helped the team earn multiple industry design awards throughout that period of growth. In addition to product and brand design, I also helped art direct marketing campaigns and photoshoots across various company initiatives.

Driving Cross-Functional Growth

Beyond design leadership, I functioned as a cross-departmental liaison, collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and account management teams to help align product, brand, and business goals. I also helped streamline internal design and production processes that enabled the company to successfully produce and launch more than 3,000 restaurant websites during my time there.
